Wow... I haven't updated in a while...

At first, there was nothing new. I mean, work is work and lately I've been working all late-shifts so it was not "new" right? Last week was three 2-10:30pm and two 12-8:30pm shifts, and this week will be one 11-7:30pm, two 2-10:30pm, and (BLAH) two midnight-8:00am shifts (and I will bet good money that I will not get to leave at 8am on the dot because the supervisor who is scheduled to come in at 8am to take over is ALWAYS LATE!) :P. On the work front, surprisingly one girl quit. She was an all right person / average worker, and I might have had a few complaints about her but it wasn't like I hated her; it just sucks because of the timing - because they haven't hired her replacement yet - so we are short. *SIGH*
I did buy her a cake for her last day -- wow, is it me or are they getting expensive? I went just to an ordinary supermarket and it cost $15 for something small. Of course, I haven't bought premade cakes in forever but I thought Costco was $12 for twice the size. And btw, ice cream cakes (or is it just Baskin Robbins?) are EXPENSIVE too. But I don't think they've increased as dramatically since the past? Weren't they in the low $20s before and now they are high $20s? Anyways, the cake was white with banana cream and whipcream and actually wasn't bad.
OH AND I HAD LAST SATURDAY OFF! I almost forgot to post that! I had requested it off and was approved and so... my sister and I went to see "Wicked" (!!!!) at the Pantages. We had lunch at Hollywood/Highland -The Kodak- Center and then saw the matinee. I like it much better than "Phantom of the Opera"; I guess I just like the plot better. *hides from Opera fans*

I believe I'm caught up with all HH homework except Occlumency which I usually have no time to meditate and then write a paragraph about said meditation.
I am now on Chapter 15 - LAST CHAPTER - of Gackie (yay!) so I will be able to release the links soon (hopefully). WHEW! I think all my creative juice for them will be satisfied (I haven't brainstormed anything new for them lately) and will probably move back to canon fic. :D

Hmm... Let's see... the Main Reason I haven't been updating my journal? I really have nothing NEW to write.

Night shifts have gotten easier, as we're not as busy as before. They say it happens with Spring/Summer. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Once in a while, there will be a patient problem but nothing as major as being yelled at for thirty minutes etc. I requested a Saturday off in a couple weeks, so I'm not sure if it will be approved as my next schedule doesn't come out until later this week. And yes, I work tonight. Tomorrow is my day off to get caught up on everything else.

I haven't been doing my HH homework... *sigh* though I will try *crosses fingers* to get to it tomorrow. I think I need to do the announcement-type thing to remind people of the Yearbook, and the comments (for participation) posts.
RP: I am thinking of bringing Jacob to WW with some major history changes... but I don't know if I should make him a teacher or a seventh-year student. Main thing for the "teacher" would be because of his pics (does he really look 18?); though the con would be "GAH! Another teacher?"
*misses Sam* I... I'm actually thinking that I might write a fic series for ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) 7spells for Terry/Mandy. Yes, I'm sappy like that, though my idea is more of their friendship and rocky relationship later. But since I still have 4 more to write to complete my other couple (Draco/Cho), it might be a while (unless I drop D/C but I really don't want to since I was half-way done).
Then there is a story that Brent (Gabe) and Miranda (Ami) broke up. Personally? I think it's just a rumor *waves flag about* but I guess no one really knows (or won't until months later anyways). |

Last night's midnight/graveyard shift wasn't so bad. I did talk to one of my coworkers and she's trying to convince me to interview for one of the supervisor positions. I'm not entirely sure I want to, but then I started thinking about it and depending on how the benefits are (they are non-union, I think --or at least not in the same union that I am currently in), and I just might. We'll see. Lots of things to talk/discuss.
Today is my day off, and so is tomorrow. Which means -unfortunately- that I work Wednesday through Sunday *sigh* and all of them are late shifts :P *grumble*

Still a bit irked by working nights, but what can you do? Complain? As if that would help. So, I'm looking for little things to make me smile...
1. Meetings - *grin* because meetings mean less time to do actual work. Same with training. So, yesterday, my shift was from 2:00-10:30-pm; I worked from 2:00-3:15pm (approx), had a meeting from 3:15-4:30pm, was supposed to go lunch at 5:30pm but got sidetracked with a problem and then waited for training, had a brief training session at 6:15-6:40pm, had dinner from 6:40-7:40pm, and then worked from 7:40-10:40pm.
2. Emma Bunton - yeah, yeah, it's a CD from 2005 and an import to boot - but whatever. I like certain tracks better than others but in general, it isn't a bad CD and I'm too lazy to change the CD that I have in my computer. True, I could just burn a bunch of songs (or sign up for one of those download sites - but I have no iPod, so why bother?) onto my jukebox but that requires work too. ;) I heart "Maybe", "Amazing", and "You Are". If only I had Victoria Beckham's CD, then I could compare ;D.
3. Traffic at 11:00pm - it actually isn't too bad either. Sure, I don't really like driving late (considering I'm tired on top of it) but I'm trying to find the silver lining in working late shifts (which so far, have been relatively drama-free).
4. LJ - it's actually been pretty slow on my flist and rps, which I don't mind and provides a balance to rush and stress.
5. Gackie - yeah, yeah - no need to bug me about that, but I'm almost done with the fic! WHEE! and then I think it will be FINISHED as I haven't had any other ideas for the pair (well, except to spin off with the alternate to Chapter 2 - but why torture myself with that?) So, it just makes me happy that I'm almost done, since I'm working on Chapter 14 right now (it's linked to Chapter 13, so Chapter 13 isn't unlocked yet in case I need to revise it). Once the fic has burned its course, I might work on individual drabbles for my characters.
True, there is the Meicob ship but I haven't had the chance to fully explore Jacob's personality and I'm hesitant on writing Mei as I don't have a good grasp on her (not like the grasp I have of Gabe's personality); I'd be more inclined to writing Gami (BFF-wise / platonic) since Ami is more settled than Jacob (who is still maturing into his own person). The only other couple that I'd be comfortable writing would be Ben/Grace as they're both mine (as a sort of past, retrospective piece but nothing is set for the future).
6. RP - Mandy is a hoot to write. I'm getting used to Sophie. Augury is picking up. WW is expanding a little. Yay! |

Subject is titled so because I start my five-day stretch of work today (Wednesday through Sunday), so today feels like "Monday" to me. The shift *GRUMBLE* is the 2:00pm-10:30pm shift; and the same goes for Thursday. Friday is a bit nicer with 11:00am-7:30pm, and Saturday with 8:00am-4:00pm, but Sunday is 12:00-8:30pm. ((This means no chat with Ali *WEEPS* though you'll be going on a seven or nine-day road trip to hit 4-5 colleges or something ;P.))

Priscus - woah... R and NC-17? Yet the age minimum limit is 16? *is confused* Oh well... it might be "angsty" but it is so CRACKED. I think they ship more there than other games I've been in / am currently in, which is totally okay with me but just makes me go @.@ "woah". Especially the slashy ships.
WW - *twiddles thumbs* basically a teeter-totter with Lala and me. I spam her; she spams me. BUT I'M CAUGHT UP TODAY - at least while I type, so I can enjoy it :D.
Musical - hmm... thread? Jen? I have no idea how to start it... and I have to go look at what the date is because I don't even know that. *is lost* But Ali came up with the reason Elisabeth was rejected! Because she's over 25! And remember, that's the age maximum for PBs there. I think Elisabeth is 28 or 29.

(RE: my last post) It turns out that I was worried about nothing. My co-worker only called because she had a question about one of our assistant's schedules, although it beats me why she wouldn't leave a better message (one that was less vague). So, nothing like asking me to come in to work! WHEE!
It's also two weeks "late" (as in it's later than the time Kat posted), but I finally got my box of Girl Scout cookies too. ;D But I left them at work in my mail-box so I could eat one a day or something... (No, I didn't eat the whole box in one sitting :D.)

So yesterday was nice. I worked from 8am and got off earlier than expected? WHY? Because they sent me to computer training in the afternoon. It was originally set for another girl - but she worked from 11am-7:30pm and the training was from 1pm-4pm, so why make her go and then come back? So they asked me to go, since I would get off at 4:30pm anyways. Well, it was computer-based training and I finished it around 3:15pm. So, I went home afterward. (Why go back to fight for parking and then work for thirty minutes? That would make no sense.)
Today is my day off. I work Wednesday through Saturday, varying schedules, though I have another training session tomorrow morning.

Thanks to ladybluestar for the reminder... I keep forgetting which week is mine, and yesterday I put up the lesson for arithharmony... but now I need to work on the next lesson for astrolharmony before that sneaks in and I'll go "omigod! LESSON!" and scramble to type one out.
WW! WHEE! I don't know how many responses I'll actually get to Divinations, as yes - another "school" subject, but my character is currently the only professor there! So at least classes have started... kind of. ;D
I AM NOT A MACHINE! *pbbt!* which btw, translates to... I'm going to work and if I get a chance to reply to all my threads (through email), everybody is getting my default icons! Work
Nothing new. Had a monthly - or is it every-other-monthly meeting - which was "nice" in the sense of "yay! no work for an hour!" but nothing terribly exciting. We're going to split the department into ten groups to get some competition going on (also, to communicate as I'm thinking it's more like a "phone" tree where if the supervisor tells the ten group leaders what's what, then the group leaders are responsible for their group knowing). One of my coworkers joked and said she'd have the group with perfect attendance (it's a joke because all the assistants and technicians NEVER have perfect attendance) and I joked and said that my group will have posters! ;D er... well... it might not sound funny on lj, but well, our jokes are sorta dry.

Apparently, I am emitting a "vibe". Well, in case I am, I hope to clear it up. Sure, my characters can use some "loving" (as Lala calls it) but I have no "plans" on it. This doesn't mean I'm against it or won't entertain the thought. I am just not "actively" looking for it. I have certain goals that I would like my characters to reach - usually to improve themselves and mature - and plots along those lines, but falling in and out of love, crushes, triangles, relationships and their tangles, aren't something I'm planning or plotting. If it happens, it happens; if it doesn't, it doesn't. Besides, relationships are two-way streets, right? I can't "plan" it, since I don't control the other character(s). And as much as certain characters want or don't want, fate has a way of happening so to me - it doesn't matter.
Let's ask them...
Jade: Do you want to be involved with somebody?
Jackie: Boys don't look at me that way...
Veronica: Ew... COOTIES!
Ana: Did Kier set you up to ask such a stupid question? He's so asking for a bat-bogey hex.
Ami: Not when I have to study for NEWTs and apply for an internship with the Council of Archaeological and Anthropological Discovery.
Steven: I suppose after I figure out the persons responsible for Deryck's death.
Jacob: Er... girls? Me? *blushes profusely* They all like Caine. And I... er... I dunno.

Work:
Not much to report. I can't get everything done when I'm the only one "in charge" from about 8am to 10am (the next girl comes in at 10am, and though there is a supervisor at 9am, they don't "help" with the actual workload too much), but I try. Traffic was better yesterday than last week. I'm guessing it was because last week was Martin Luther King's bday and the end of a three-day weekend for those lucky folk (who for some reason like to go to Las Vegas whenever there is a long weekend and just make traffic SUCK when they come home all together on the last day! *PBBT!*).

Lala is so mean! I am NOT obsessed with a non-existent OTP! I just think it's a cute non-existent OTP and I come up with these cute ideas to write! I mean... look at my character list. There isn't anyone else on there either! So why not stick with this non-existent OTP than create an OTP with an NPC?
I suppose my "thing" is that I think they're all too young and if they have crushes or romances in high school, it's not going to be "forever after". Hence the reason my non-existent OTP is set TEN YEARS in the future, when they're older/wiser/more mature and can possibly have a "happy ending".
Of my characters... just look at them. I don't see any OTPs in the making.
Jackie - Rho thinks everybody should stay away from her with a ten-foot pole because she insists on no more Sad!Jackie. I could have her crush or be oblivious or triangled-relationships and such, but no one else wants that and she's still growing and maturing and not thinking about coupledom. Future!Jackie? I have NO IDEA. Gabe was only a possibility IF both of them were still single in the future (thus the non-existent OTP) but other than him? I think every other guy is spoken for in RP-land. I'd have to match Jackie with an NPC, and Gabe vs NPC - Gabe's easier because he's established. I don't have to think of a personality or qualities for an NPC. I think Gabe is also a lot closer in personality to her brother and her father, and though no one ever says it, that influences her choices in males, don't you think?
Ami - as Lala said, with Gabe? HAHAHAHA... if Kendra is any indication on Gabe's "type", Jackie is closer to Ken's personality than Ami, and Ami/Gabe could work 'companionship'-wise but I just don't see really much anything else. I think her crush would be on more of an "opposite" personality (such as her childhood crush on Sly because he was different), though I haven't really explored what type of guy she'd like. If she's attracted to men like her father, Gabe isn't like her father. I'm actually not sure who is... *must think later*
Veronica - too young right now - and Kier (and possibly April) would kill Mason if he wanted to date future!Veronica. Besides current!Veronica is much too obsessed with finding out about her family history than about boys.
Ana - even younger than Veronica - is possibly the only person I'd think of in a future relationship. Maybe future!Ana and future!Armand, although with future!Romey, there could be a triangle. Besides, I think Jen is rooting for Ana/Romey more than anything. Only other person would be Kier, and I think Ana/Kier would kill each other or end up like Ron/Hermione. More than likely, murder not love.
Grace - I suppose she's the only possibility. I'd have to explore it more though but she's pretty much jaded and cynical. Hard shell to crack. I actually had a few BS fics in mind for her, to establish her past-relationship and how his death affected her.
Jacob - just edited - hmm... he's as new as Grace, so time will only tell. Phoebe is like a sister to him and Dasher is just an acquaintance. I haven't BSed with April's girl though I don't think they'd be great friends??? and so, with everybody else - the cast is small, and he's more concerned (as I'm sure they all are) with controlling and learning about his powers versus hooking up.
Steven - ha! I suppose if I create an NPC love for an NPC guy... suuure...
and finally, I think that leaves...
Cho - who is pretty much "available" but not really interested in anybody either. She's at a crossroads in her life, freshly graduated, no more boyfriends in the mix, and trying to figure things out. Augury is a small cast too... and canon-relationships would be harder to figure out than the other OC ones... |

Nothing really new to report... Traffic SUCKED major on Monday coming home and it took me over an hour and a half to get home - possibly closer to two hours to drive 25 miles! I wish we had the Metro System like New York and DC but can we say "car manufacturers and the oil industry shoots all those ideas down because they prefer money/profit to helping the environment and helping relieve traffic congestion"? Yes, we can say that - but not ten times fast ;).

Hmm... it's a good thing I've got longer deadlines on the HH activities since it seems we don't have as much participation as last. Anndee/Starlight, did we decide on how many points for the Santa Exchange? I'm guessing no one tabulated and updated the hourglasses yet, so I will once you let me know if it's 10 or 20 or 25 or 3.1415 points per person who participated. ;)

Yay! Today is my day off from work... *whew* but still quite a bit to do... *sigh*

Yesterday was "okay", surprisingly since three girls from the "night crew" called off (aka 'called in sick' and a couple other people had to stay over and work overtime). I heard Monday night was murder - so I'm glad I didn't have to work that night. Tomorrow, I work a decent shift at 9am (*squee*) but I will probably have to buy gas for my car beforehand.
Today, I will probably be typing/writing and also working on some graphics (see below LJ), and just some general relaxing. I have to install -just did so now it's done- some software for my sister's digital camera, and possibly clean a little. We'll see how that goes.

I finished my HH Secret Santa gift (yay!) but now will probably work on a few more miscellaneous icon/graphic gifts for friends.
Also, if I have the chance, I have several things to type up - a couple parts to a couple Gackie fics in progress (must keep him alive! to counter the hilariousness of his PB, the anti-Gabe, which btw, Ami weeps that she no longer has her BFF ;_;), my professor app for WW, and debating to fill out a sorting app for an LOTR comm just to get stamped (am I man, elf, dwarf, hobbit, or barrow-wight? knowing me, I'd probably end up a hobbit or barrow-wight for lack of LOTR knowledge). This equals a lot of typing/writing!
But... I'm probably going to be working on a couple of F/O banners for Jackie and Ami, and possibly the prof once I get an LJ set up for her too.

Nothing much here... but a little happy work stuff...

My supervisor asked if I could work 8:00-4:30pm on Monday instead of what she had scheduled (2:00-10:30pm), which of course I said, "YES!" (but not that excitedly). Yay!
And also, they gave out their little Christmas "Thanks for being good employees!"-type gifts (identical to everybody) which was a popcorn container and a movie ticket. Nice :) since my previous two jobs did NOTHING for their employees. :)

Work: Did I mention that I had Wednesday and Thursday off this week? Well, SCRATCH THAT! Make it only Wednesday. Yesterday, my supervisor asked if I could work Thursday - the 9am shift (THANK GOD!) - and me being the pushover that I am (I come close second to Gabe, don't I?), said "okay". So, this week is six days! And it will be SIX DAYS IN A ROW! *headdesk* Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. *grumble* And of course, Monday and Tuesday are 2-10:30pm just like this week. *shakes fist*. To top that all off, the following weekend - I have to work graveyard AGAIN! (WTF?) So, Saturday and Sunday from midnight to 8am. *winces in anticipation of lack of sleep!*
As I paraphrase (make light of) April, it's a good thing my hands look young because it averages out the rest of my appearance. *laughs quite inappropriately and then sighs at own joke*
I did finally call the Help Desk, and after fifteen minutes (which basically wasted half the free time I did have), I was able to get my password to work... so now I have access to the library's computers. Yay! One small step for Jade here! Unfortunately, the library closes at 5pm... so I must type quickly and have my lunch breaks before then... (which is kinda hard if I work 2-10:30pm to have lunch around 4:30pm). *sigh*
We also have a Secret Santa Exchange going on at work. Luckily, I got a girl who likes Peanuts too... so I'm getting her some Peanuts stuff. But I don't know... I'm still kinda "sensitive" in the "worried if she'll like what I get her" type mood.
hmm... do I really have a RL outside of work? Not at the moment... I need to start writing Christmas cards, and today, I will call my best friend in Pennsylvania and ask her when she's coming back... as I hope that will light a fire under me to finish draft #3.

Ali: Kian is SO DIFFICULT to find pictures for! Why must you like models who don't have many pictures? First it was Brent - and then luckily we found some pics, which half are totally inappropriate anyways (BAD GABE! STOP STARING DOWN HER BLOUSE! and who said you could wear SUNGLASSES? and you need to shave!). And now Kian? GAH! help????? (at least, Brent is better than Pottsy who is ever harder to find pics for... although Soren shirtless isn't as far-fetched as Gabe wearing pink shoes.) |

Not that I'm Irish, but it is St. Patrick's Day here... time to watch people get drunk drinking green beer. ;) (actually, I'd watch the festivities on TV :)
Woah.. I haven't 'updated' my journal in a few days - this must be a record for me. For the past couple days, I've been scrapbooking old pictures. Today, I may continue scrapbooking but as it is my day off, I'll be on and offline writing / revising some fiction (both fanfic and not).
I'm so excited. I got 'cast' as Cho Chang for H_E's RPG. I worked on her 'bio' and 'pics' last night. She is techochang (I giggle at the user name they gave me; no, I didn't choose it myself - it looks like 'techno chang'!) Hopefully, I will get a role in their Marauder RPG too :). The Marauder one seems like more fun since it's a character that basically I create (because she is only mentioned in the HP books for 1-2 sentences and readers don't know much about her to begin with). Speaking of which, if you are an H_E member, they are still looking for players for both RPGs. So, if you like writing, and want to try RPGing, fill out an application! :)
I watched Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve this past weekend. I liked the first better than its sequel. Today, I will probably watch Agent Cody Banks. I watched that sequel last week, and guess what? Arthur Weasley was in it! Well, the actor was.. but it was funny to see him in a 'non-Arthur-Weasley' role. :) I think HP fandom has caught up to me. Before I used to go, 'hey, that guy was on Star Trek! He played 'such and such a role'!' Now, I say, 'hey, that guy was on Harry Potter!' ;) *sigh* I'm such a nut! :) |
