Happy New Year! [Jan. 1st, 2007|06:38 pm]

[Current Mood |indescribableindescribable]

... and here I am already looking forward to Summer movies ... ;) (I blame Rick Dees since I caught a snippet of his morning show today on my drive to work.) ;D

Movies coming and their release dates:

* May 4: Spider-Man 3
* May 18: Shrek the Third
* May 25: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
* June 8: Ocean's Thirteen
* June 15: Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer
* July 4: Transformers
* July 13: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
* July 27: The Simpsons Movie
* August 3: The Bourne Ultimatum
* August 10: Rush Hour 3

I never got into the Pirates of the Caribbean craze (have yet to fully watch the first two movies), but didn't the last one just come out last year? Or am I a year off? If it it did, maybe they shot both movies back to back (like the Lord of the Rings trilogy) since it takes a while in post-production for special effects and whatnot.

And I'm surprised they're bringing the Transformers to the big screen. That'll be interesting, though I don't think I'd watch it since I wasn't a Transformers die-hard fan when I was a tyke. I did like He-Man and She-Ra and Jem (god, I'm old) but the last time they tried to make a He-Man movie (isn't there one out there or am I senile?) was like in the 80s, I think, and you can imagine how CHEESY it was. AND I knew it was cheesy even when I was little!

Harry Potter will coincide with Book 7's release date (between July 7 and July 13) so the publicity surrounding one can only help the other and vice versa.

I think my sister liked the Bourne movies, but yet again I need to watch it. I heard The Good Shepard is nothing like the Bourne movies, so if you're hoping it is, don't expect it.

And Rush Hour 3 just amuses me...

....that is a freakin whole lot of sequels right there. Yay Hollywood, what what.

Jadeling have you ever read the Outlander books? I want them to make movies out of thooooooooose. (And also I want more people to read them because I LOVES THEM.)

Oooh, Good Shepard. I saw that on Christmas Day. What did you think of it? I liked the story but the pacing and the editing UGH OMG NOT IN A GOOD DAY. Maybe we are crazy, but see if you can answer this without cheating:
Joe Pesci has one scene in the movie. Matt Damon goes to talk to him about something or other (he makes that horrid statement about how white people have the United States of America and everyone else is just visiting). WHAT WAS THE POINT?! Like, to the plot. I ASK YOU. Our (slightly conceited) thought was that if a whole family of smart people COULDN'T REMEMBER it was probably a bad scene. GAH. I am frustrated just rememberingggggg.

Also, I was completely thrown when we finally had a conversation about it and Rob said for a while he thought he was picking up on homosexual overtones. O.o Weird movie.

haha... nope, I haven't read them. Who's the author? Maybe I'll go check him out from the library. :D

*poke* is that the new Professor in your icon? ;D

Nope, actually I haven't watched the movie; just a coworker told me not to bother ;D. So... guessing by what you thought, I prolly won't either. ;)

Do you know what's coming out in the Spring? :) I hadn't heard anything about those movies.

They are by an author named Diana Gabaldon, who is awesome. She wasn't even really a writer before she wrote these, which is just hard to believe. They are called
Dragonfly in Amber
Drums of Autumn
The Fiery Cross
Breath of Snow and Ashes
and the last one hasn't been written yet.
They are basically historical fiction but there is time travel and omggggggg they are just so SO awesome. The characters! They are amazing!

That be Nigel, yarrrrr. Isn't he silly?! His NPC brothers, who are twins, are the Mythbusters you know.

I have no idea what movies are coming out. We go see them very rarely, really. Only things that we think
1. Will be very good
2. Will be MUCH better on the large screen than the TV

It's a surprisingly number of movies, yep.

I'm really surprised that they are doing another Fantastic Four. I never thought that the first one was all that great.

Actually, the rumors for Book 7 are fairly widespread, either 7/7, 7/31, or 10/31. All would be good release dates.

I thought the Bourne movies were enjoyable, but I hear that they were quite different from the books.

Yeah, I heard the FF actors signed on to do a 3-movie deal... and FF2 -the premise- sounds worse than FF1. Hopefully, it'll be "better".

Ah! Okay :) I read they were aiming for around the movie's date. :D

Siiigh. Something tells me I'll be spectacularly disappointed by Book 7. Just a hunch, since Book 6 was a letdown for me.

YAY PIRATES. *marks down on calendar*

Just a note before I start rambling too much: Movies = LIFE to me. So yeah.

Public Service Announcement: I REFUSE TO GET SUCKED INTO SPIDERMAN, SO DON'T EVEN TRY IT. >:[ *eyes Ivan especially because he loves sucking me into fandoms*

I am all a-spazzing over Shrek, PotC, Transformers and HP. You do not know how much I am in love with all of those. Yes. *SPAZ*

(And for the record, they did shoot PotC 2 & 3 back to back, which is why I'm annoyed that they're taking so long for 3 to be released in theaters. *RABID FANGIRL*)

I am hesitantly looking forward to the Fantastic Four movie (If only because Ioan is hellahawt and I have a guilty-pleasure-girl-crush on Alba), The Simpsons Movie (really, what else can they possibly do with that set up? The show's stale, dammitall. >:[ ), and Rush Hour 3 (I ♥ Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker even if the plots are kinda thin...).

Also, if He-Man, She-Ra and Jem make you old, then SO AM I. But I was also big on Transformers. ... I hung out with mostly boys as a child. XD

And honestly? The HP stuff doesn't NEED the publicity help, so that's crackheaded, wtf. They're just going to make all us rabid fans' heads explode in the same week. Not wise, really. Seeing as we'll all be laid up in the hospital in comas or without our heads and thus unable to do repeat viewings at the theater or spewing our rabid love all over the internet.

And now I STFU with my rambly movie obsessed self, kthnx.

hahahaha... <3 Lala!

I may enjoy/love the Spiderman movies, but I'm not rabidly into them (thankfully!). :D But the premise sounds really good (Me *ruffles* Plot! WHEEE!) compared to *cough*FF.

Ah! Thanks for the heads up. I thought it was "strange" for #3 to be released "so soon" if they hadn't. As for HP, they could just have book 7 released 10/31 like ladybluestar said above. That'll probably be in time for the DVD of movie 5 or something ;)

Hmm... do you remember the cartoon Beverly Hills Teens? I also <3ed Peter Pan and the Pirates, and the Chipmunks, and yes, we're old together!

Sweetness! Yeah, I'm really excited about Potc, Spider-Man, and HP!!! XD

I'm kinda curious about Shrek the Third cuz I heard that Justin Timberlake's gonna be a character somehwhere in there. King Arthur??? Not sure.

Rush Hour 3, I think, is so late in release b/c of budget issues. The last two were hilarious and action-packed, so hopefully this last installment is just as good. Have you watched Rush Hour?

Yeah, I think I heard that too... that he's King Arthur in it - maybe a teenage Arthur?

Yup, I saw the other two Rush Hours, but they were a while ago, so now I'm not sure what they were about anymore. ;)
